Mount Union wide receiver Pierre Garcon was selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft today by the Indianapolis Colts with the 205th overall pick.

Garcon is the first modern era Purple Raider, and the second overall, to be drafted into the NFL.  In 1948, running back Vince Marotta was taken by the New York Giants with the 236th overall pick.

Garcon is Mount Union's all-time leader in receptions with 202 and the Ohio Athletic Conference career leader in touchdown catches with 47.  He received All-America honors and was twice named the OAC's Ed Sherman Award winner as the conference's best receiver.  Garcon finished his collegiate career (both Mount Union and Norwich) with 246 receptions for 4,380 yards and 65 total touchdowns.
