Mount Union College has scheduled a home and home series with Averett University for its football season opener in 2006 and 2007.  The Cougars are located in  Danville, VA and play in the USA South Athletic Conference.  You can see the Purple Raiders future football schedules through 2009 here.

All Purple Raider fans are invited and encouraged to attend a Dinner and Silent Auction that is presented by the M Club on June 24th at the Peterson Field House on the campus of Mount Union College.  The Silent Auction will begin at 5:30 with a Dinner Buffet at 6:30. Cost is $35 per person and is open to the public.

Dom Capers (Houston Texans) and Ron Lynn (formerly of the San Francisco 49ers) will speak at this event.  A short list of items you will see and have an opportunity to bid on during the silent auction include:

Many signed NFL footballs & jerseys from numerous NFL teams, a bus trip for four, dinner at Mountaineer, four football season tickets including brunch tickets, a Purple Raider letterman’s jacket, numerous basketball items and season tickets, Golf at the Alliance Country Club and Tannenhauf golf courses, a Wool MUC blanket, many purple jackets/windbreakers, a Nike golf bag, a children’s bicycle, Manhattan Cleaners services, Mary Kay products and party for 24, Roy’s Wash & Lube, Beads3 Jewelry, local restaurant gift certificates, signed National Championship posters, many NFL products, and much more…
