Mount Union's Purple team beat the White 17-10 this afternoon in the annual Purple and White scrimmage at Mount Union Stadium.  The White squad led 10-3 at halftime, at which point most of this year's projected starters where finished for the afternoon.

The Purple roster included Zac Bruney (QB), Rick Ciccone (HB), Brian Miller (FB), Randell Knapp (WR), Jason Cavell (WR), Antoine Dillard (DT), Jason McElhaney (DE), Anthony Frate (LB) and Mike Miller (CB).

The White roster included Jesse Burghardt (QB), Jeff Strauch (HB), Jason Pugh (FB), Nick Sirianni (WR), Scott Casto (WR), Josh Ludwig (DT), Shaun Spisak (LB), Matt Caponi (FS), and Ross Watson (CB).

Among the highlights where a 57-yard pass from Bruney that Knapp caught over his shoulder at the two-yard line, a seven-yard touchdown pass from Burghardt to Pugh, and a 42-yard field goal by Chad Teague that was right down the middle and had better than ten yards to spare.

D3football.com has reported that the College Sports Television (CSTV) network will televise Mount Union's football game at John Carroll on October 18th.  At this point that is the only Division III contest scheduled to be broadcast by the network in 2003, although the schedule is subject to change.

ESPN maintains the rights to the Stagg Bowl and will televise Stagg Bowl XXXI on December 20th live from Salem (VA), likely on ESPN2.

CSTV is available on satellite systems as well as some cable networks.  Contact your local provider for details.
