Three Purple Raiders have signed free agent contracts with NFL teams.  Cornerback Chris Kern signed with the Detroit Lions following the 2003 NFL draft yesterday, quarterback Rob Adamson signed with the San Diego Chargers today and running back Dan Pugh signed with the Chicago Bears today.

All three players contributed highly to Mount Union's last three national championship teams.  Adamson started the last two years at quarterback, compiling a record of 25-0 and leading the Purple Raiders to two national titles; Kern, an All-American cornerback, was never involved in a loss during his playing career at Mount Union, starting the last three seasons while the team compiled a record of 42-0; and Pugh, a running back, received the Gagliardi Trophy as Division III's best player following this past season and was named MVP of the 2002 Stagg Bowl.
