As we head in to the 2002 football season, according to the results of our MTU Opinion Poll, most of you think John Carroll will give Mount Union the biggest challenge this year.  The Blue Streaks received 45% of the votes, followed by Ohio Northern with 30% and Wis-Whitewater with 11%.

We are now one week for the opening kickoff in Wisconsin and our new poll asks. "What will happen in Wisconsin in the season opener?"  Give us your thoughts today.

I learned some interesting news today.  Mount Union has scheduled a home and home series with Washington (MO) from the University Athletic Association to open the 2004 and 2005 football seasons.  The Purple Raiders will travel to St. Louis in 2004 and the Bears will come to Alliance in 2005.  Washington University won the UAA last season with an overall record of 8-2.  You can see Mount Union's future schedules through 2005 here.

The 2002 Ohio Athletic Conference Football Preview was held today in Columbus and Mount Union was voted as most likely to repeat as football conference champions by both the coaches and media voting.  Ohio Northern was picked to finish second and John Carroll third in each poll.  You can see the results of each preseason poll here.
