The Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the City of Alliance, present the "RAIDER RALLY" on Wednesday, January 31, 2001, at the Hoover Price Campus Center on the campus of Mount Union College.
This event is open to the public and free of charge. All are encouraged to attend. The planned activities include:
Make plans to join the celebration! It's your chance to thank the Mount Union football team for all the excitement it has brought the community during the 2000 season. The college bookstore will also be open.

The American Football Coaches Association has named Mount Union Head Football Coach Larry Kehres as the NCAA Division III AFCA National Coach of the Year. This is a record fifth time Kehres has won coach of the year honors. He has earned the award in each of Mount Unions national championship seasons of 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2000. Joe Paterno (Penn State) and Bob Reade (Augustana) are the only four-time winners.
Also named as coaches of the year at the AFCA 2001 convention were Oklahoma's Bob Stoopes (Division 1-A), Georgia Southerns Paul Johnson (Division I-AA) and Bloomsburgs Danny Hale (Division II).
All four winners were honored Tuesday evening at the AFCA Coach of the Year banquet at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Atlanta. You can read the entire story here.

Don Hanson's National Weekly Football Gazette has named its 2000 NCAA Division III All-American Teams. First Team Purple Raiders include QB Gary Smeck, WR Adam Marino and OL Jason Gerber. Making the Second Team were RB Chuck Moore, OL Bill Rychel and LB Jesse Pearson.
Larry Kehres was named Football Gazette NCAA Division III Co-Coach of the Year, along with St. John's John Gagliardi, while Jason Gerber was named Lineman of the Year! Congratulations Purple Raiders!
