A second addition I've added to this site is a Guestbook that allows all
our visitors a chance to leave a message about themselves, what they think of this site or
their views on Mount Union football. Yes, I know, this has been a long time
coming. The site is nearly a year old and finally the guestbook is done! You
can get to it near the top of the left menu on the main page or by clicking here. Please take a minute and
sign it when you have the chance.
I'm working on a couple additions to this site, the first of which has now been
added at the bottom of the left menu on the main page. A MTU Opinion Poll
has been added and the first question asks your preference to the playing surface at Mount
Union Stadium. Please give us your opinion.
Mount Union College has announced the names of two more high school seniors that have
enrolled at the school. One is Stark County football standout Eric Heinzer, from
Perry High School. Heinzer had options including preferred walk-on status at Akron
and what amounted to nearly a full-ride scholarship at Walsh. You can read more
about him in a story in today's
Canton Repository.
You can also read about all of Eric Heinzer's
gridiron accomplishments, as well as those of all the official recruits by Mount Union
College in our 2001 Recruiting Class page here.
We have added two more names to our 2001 Recruiting Class page, including
one Alliance High School product. We will continually update this page as we receive
official releases from Mount Union College. You can see the entire list here.
We've posted a picture of the official game program from the 1999 meeting between Mount
Union and John Carroll in University Heights. The Purple Raiders posted win number
46 in a row with a triple overtime thriller, 57-51. Click on the picture to see a larger
version.
We've posted Mount Union's future football schedules through the 2005 season. The
week-one non-conference game for each year has not been finalized yet after this upcoming
season. Thanks to the Mount Union College Sports Information Department for this
information. You can glance into the future here.
We've added six pictures to our game story of the 1999 triple overtime battle between
Mount Union and John Carroll that has been titled "Game of the Millennium"
by writer Dick
Ross. Thanks go out to John Carroll SID Chris Wenzler and
photographer John H. Reed III for the photographs! You can see the pictures and the
story we have of that great game here.
Mount Union College has announced the names of four more high school seniors that will be
attending the college in the fall. We've added them to our 2001 Recruiting
Class page. We will continually update this page as we receive releases
from the college. You can see the list here.
I came across a great statistics page concerning NCAA athletics.
Scroll down to find football on the bottom left. This has everything from attendance
to most improved teams to championship records. It even has a statisticians'
manual. You can check it out here.
April 18th is Mount Union College Night at Canal Park when the Akron Aeros host the
Harrisburg Senators. The 2000 National Champion Football Team will be honored on the
field before the game. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. If you haven't
caught a game in Akron yet, that might be a good night.
