Purple Raiders in the NFL

Wilmer Flemming, HB - Played in one game for the Canton Bulldogs in 1925.

Corl Zimmerman, OL - Played in 13 games and started seven for the Dayton Triangles between 1927 and 1929.

Vince Marotta, B - Drafted in the 26th round (236th overall) by the New York Giants in 1948.

Scott Woolf, QB - Played in one game for the Los Angeles Raiders in 1987.

Jim Ballard, QB - On the roster of the Cincinnati Bengals in 1994 and on the roster of the Buffalo Bills in 1997 and 1998.

Chris Kern, DB - Played in two games for the Detroit Lions in 2004.

Pierre Garcon, WR - Drafted in the sixth round (205th overall) by the Indianapolis Colts in 2008 ... Appeared in 14 games in 2008 and had four catches for 23 yards, 22 kick returns for 475 yards and had nine tackles on special teams.

Dom Capers - Enters his 24th season as an NFL coach in 2009 as the defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers.  He has worked for seven different teams, including being the first head coach of the Carolina Panthers and was also head coach of the Houston Texans

Ron Lynn - Spent 18 seasons as an NFL assistant coach serving as defensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins.  Also was secondary coach for the New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers.  Currently is in his second season as co-defensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Stanford University.
